    A group of senior and junior prefects from De Mazenod College, Kandana attended a two-day workshop on ‘Self Development’, conducted by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) at “Wisdom Dorm”, Kankesanthurai during two days (Aug 25 - 26).   • Second Workshop on 'Art of Living' Held


    More than 160 Army personnel serving the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) and Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) listen to the second lecture on ‘Art of Living’ and attended its workshop for three days (Aug 29 - 31) at Nelum Piyasa auditorium at Kilinochchi. The lecture and its workshop was conducted by the founder of the workshop Mr H.H Sri Sri Ravishankar and Mr K.K Ganesh Ji.
  • More Water Distribution Continues in East


    2 Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops serving Trincomalee under 221 Brigade, 2 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) in Welikanda, 8 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) troops at Minneriya and 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops at Serunuwara in the past week conducted a number of social service projects for the benefit of low-income group families in respective areas.
     
     
  • Wanni Commander Distributes Seeds & Dry Ration Packets


    Drought-affected people in Veheratenna received 265 packets of rice as relief, thanks to the sponsorship, provided by Mr Yoga Perera, President, SLADAR and his family on Friday (29). The distribution took place in the presence of Brigadier K.G.D Perera, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division after the coordination was done by 26 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR).

    A four digit number of Army personnel serving the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) successfully completed a one-month long Tamil language proficiency course and received their credentials during a grand ceremony at Kankasanthurai on Friday (29).   • More Relief Provided & Coordinated by Wanni & Central Troops


    Another total of 200 drought-hit families in Kalyanipura Phase I, Phase II and Phase III in Vavuniya received dry ration packets and drinking water bottles, sponsored by Rev Fr Sanjeewa of Padaviya in conjunction with the priest of Waga Parish on August, 25. The arrangement coordinated by the 62 Division was supported by the Commanding Officer of 17 Sri Lanka National Guard (17 SLNG).

  • Newest 'Ordnance Factory' for Manufacture of Essentials Opened at Dombagoda




    Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, intent on encouraging the production of Army essentials within the organization itself, embarked on another new project on Monday (1) after ceremonially inaugurating the newest ‘Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Factory’ at Dombagoda Horana where iron beds are manufactured under the first phase.
     
  • 6 SLLI Invokes Merits on Its Fallen War Heroes during Annual Pinkama


    The annual all-night Pirith chanting and offer of alms to 130 Buddhist monks with the objective of transferring merits on 464 War Heroes of the 6 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (6 SLLI) was held for the 16th consecutive year at Mahakandarawa 6 SLLI Headquarters in Mihintale, beginning Saturday (30) evening.     As one more humanitarian project of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT), a special mobile clinic for diagnosis of cardiac complications was held on Sunday (31) at Mullaittivu District Hospital, following arrangements, made by the SFHQ-MLT. A team of 6 medical specialists, together with 19 medical assistants from Asiri Hospitals Ltd of Colombo examined 207 patients.....
