  • Soldier Sets Example by Returning Tab Phone


    Private M.N Deshapriya of the 18 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) recently set one more exemplary act by returning the tablet which had been in a bus. Private M.N Deshapriya who is serving at the 12 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) found an expensive Dialog tablet in the bus while returning to the camp after finishing his leave. Private Deshapriya who took the tab handed it over.....
     
  • 42 Officers Receives BSW Badges


    42 officers who successfully completed The Battalion Support Weapon (BSW) course No.66 at the Infantry Training Center (ITC), Minneriya received badges during a ceremony held on Saturday at the ITC auditorium  from Brigadier L.A.N.S Wanigasinghe, Commandant, ITC and Lieutenant Colonel H.P.I Perera, Commanding Officer.


  • Inter Regiment Drill Competition Conducted


    Army Inter Regiment Drill Competition initiated to inculcate interest on drills, self-discipline and to build up personality of officers and soldiers was held during 10-15 August at the Sri Lanka Artillery Regimental Headquarters Parade grounds. Platoons representing all Regiments in the Army participated in the competition.
     
  • Wanni Officers Further Educated in English


    An English proficiency course, meant to improve English proficiency among officers serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), reached its successful completion on Saturday (15) at the 21 Division Headquarters, Anuradhapura. 40 Officers attended the 12-day long course, organized with the assistance of London Stanford College.
     
  • Wanni Inter Division Volleyball Championship Held


    The Wanni Inter-Division Volleyball Championship Tournament that got underway at the 56 Division volleyball court complex of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), drew to a close on Saturday (15) with the finals, played between teams of the 56 Division and the Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) (FMA(N/C)).
     
     
  • SFHQ-C Troops Conduct a 'Shramadana'


    Troops of 3 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under 112 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) conducted a ‘Shramadana’ campaign on Wednesday (12) at Ashokarama Temple, Hawa Eliya, Nuwara Eliya to clean the surrounding of the temple. The campaign was organized under the directions of the Commanding Officer, 3 (V) SLSR.
      
  • SFHQ-W Commander Opens 56 Div Officers' Mess


    The newly-constructed Officers' Mess at the 56 Division was opened by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) during a brief ceremony held at 56 Division Headquarters, Kokeliya on Saturday (15). The project was initiated under the directions of General Officer Commanding, 56 Division.
     
     
  • 5th Yoga Course in Kilinochchi Commenced


    The 5th Yoga course for 38 other ranks commenced at the Advanced Infantry Platoon Training (AIPT) School, Bharathipuram under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Friday (14) to boost discipline, mental and physical strength of military personnel.
     
     
  • Annual 'Koppara Pooja' Conducted at the Temple of Tooth Relics


    The annual ‘Koppara Pooja’ (lighting made of dry coconut) conducted by troops of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) on account of Esala Perahera was held at the Temple of Tooth Relics, Kandy on Tuesday (11). 6500 kg of Koppara was donated to lighten fire torches (flambeaus) by Major General Jagath Dias, Colonel of the Regiment, VIR, Centre Commandant Colonel D.M.K.D.B Pussella together with many officers, other rankers and their family members. 
  • Family Members of Tri-service Officers Meet in Jaffna for a Get-Together


    Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) organized a family get-together for tri-service and Police officers serving in Jaffna during14-16 August at Thalsevana Holiday Resort, Kankesanthurai (KKS). During three day get-together, families of 38 military and Police officers shared many happy moments amidst various entertaining sessions and outdoor visits.
