The Wanni Inter-Division Volleyball Championship Tournament that got underway at the 56 Division volleyball court complex of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), drew to a close on Saturday (15) with the finals, played between teams of the 56 Division and the Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) (FMA(N/C)).
7 teams participated in the tournament which commenced on 2 August. The award ceremony, took place in the presence of Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W as the Chief Guest.
After a close fight, the FMA (N/C) volleyball team clinched the Inter Division Volleyball Championship – 2015 defeating the 56 Division team.
Private K.A.D.K.M Perera of FMA (N/C) was adjudged in the Best Player in the tournament while Private W.M.P.K. Wasala of 56 Division secured the Best Attacker trophy in the tournament. Lance Corporal K.G.R.N. Jayathilaka of FMA (N/C) was awarded the Best Passer.
General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, senior officers, officers, volleyball fans, other ranks and school children in the area were present at the final event.
