Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) organized a family get-together for tri-service and Police officers serving in Jaffna during14-16 August at Thalsevana Holiday Resort, Kankesanthurai (KKS). During three day get-together, families of 38 military and Police officers shared many happy moments amidst various entertaining sessions and outdoor visits.
Families of 35 Army officers together with 3 from other services and the Police arrived in KKS railway station. After the lunch at Thalsevana, the guests were taken on sightseeing where they spent a few hours at Keerimalai twin ponds, Nuguleswaram Temple, Dambakolapatuna and Kantharodai historical Buddhist site.
Next day morning, visiting families left to visit Jaffna Museum, public library, Old Dutch Fort, Nallur temple , the Naga Viharaya and Nagadeepa for veneration and offering.
Major General Nandana Udawatta, Commander, SFHQ-J and senior officers joined the guests in evening musical entertainment and dinner that followed at Thalsevana.
Officers’ families enjoyed the scenic beauty of the northern coast on Sunday morning playing on the Thalsevana beach and bathing in the sea. Having spent three days full of fun and excitement, visiting families left Jaffna on Sunday(16) afternoon in the same train with cherished memories of hospitality and friendship.
