The annual festival at Veeramanikkathevanthurai Sri Kanngathevi temple of Myliddy was held on Tuesday (30) with attendance of a large number of Hindu devotees in the area. Troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J), together with temple authorities organized this ceremony and facilitated the movement of devotees in to the area since it is situated in the High Security Zone.

Major General Jagath Wijethilleke, Commissioner General of Rehabilitation passed away on Saturday (04) evening after a sudden illness. Major General Wijethilleke, who has served a number of key appointments in the Army, has been the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation since 2013. His remains are lying at Jayaratne parlour. His funeral rites will take place on Tuesday (07) evening.
