  • Jaffna Troops Support Conduct of 'Thaipongal'


    Sri Lanka Army troops serving the Jaffna peninsula shared the sentiments on the importance of Thaipongal day (Jan 15) with the people after offering Pongal milk rice to over 3000 pedestrians around Hindu temples in Jaffna, beginning 10.00 a.m. The arrangement, organized on the directions of Major General Jagath Alwis, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), began a few days ahead of the festival after the troops volunteered to clean up many Kovil surroundings.
  • SFHQ-E Devotional Song Presentation Draws Crowds

    Security Forces Headquarters, East (SFHQ-E) in connection with the festival of lights (Vesak) organized a mobile float with troops singing Vesak devotional songs. The decorative item, organized with the blessings of Major General Lal Perera, Commander, SFHQ-E toured several areas, close to the SFHQ-E Headquarters at Welikanda for three days.
