    One more round of the ongoing ‘Healthy Army Healthy Nation’ (HAHN) campaign in the Army got underway on Friday (14) for the troops serving the eastern theater of the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E), to be in line with the Commander’s concept for provision of the best health care for all soldiers.

    Troops serving the Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-E), continued to be engaged in different social activities, including Shramadana campaigns, conduct of seminars for school children, organizing  musical shows and educational tours in the past few days.
     
     
     
  • Visually Impaired People in Killinochchi Receive Spectacles


    Spectacles provided by Rotary Club of Kandy to the Security Force Headquarters Killinochchi (SFHQ KLN) were distributed on Sunday (16) among 332 visually impaired civilians at the Nelum Piyasa auditorium in Kilinochchi.The project, initiated by the troops of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps in cooperation with non-governmental organizations, was meant to help the civilians with impaired vision by providing glasses free of charge.
     
  • 'Thripitaka' Volumes Taken to Anuradhapura for Enshrinement


    Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake last evening (18) after attending the Pirith chanting at the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, participated at the start of the procession that carries newly carved out Thripitaka Pirivana books and other golden scriptures before they are taken to new ‘Sandahiru Seya’ at Anuradhapura for enshrinement.

  • Troops Support Patients Donating Blood

     
    Troops of 221 and 222 Brigades of the 22 Division and the 23 Division under the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) continued to organize community projects in order to further boost existing relations between the civil society and Army personnel serving the areas. Troops of 2 Gajaba Regiment (GR) on Monday (17) carried out a ‘Shramadana’ campaign to clean the premises of Glennie Girls’ Home, Trincomalee as the place remained unclean and full of wild bushes.
     
  • Troops Plant Tree Saplings

     
    Troops of the 621 Brigade and 9 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Light Infantry serving the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) recently planted more than 80 saplings of Teak, Mahogany, Kaya, Jak, Breadfruit, etc along the roadside at Sampathnuwara entrance near the Ranaviru Piyasa village on Saturday (15).
