Stationery for 500 school children and dry rations for 150 widows in Mullaittivu area were distributed on Monday (17) on account of HE the President’s 69th birth anniversary by the Governor of the Northern Province, Major General (retd) G.A Chandrasiri, following arrangements, made by Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu.
Financial assistance for purchase of those gift items was offered by ‘Nithya Kalyani’ jewellers, Colombo.
Governor of the Northern Province graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Major General Jagath Dias, Additional District Secretary, representatives of the “Nithya Kalyani” jewellers, teachers, students and parents in Mullattivu area took part in this event.
