  • Army Uses its Own Funds for Purchase of Hand Tractors for Vikumpura Farmers

     
    Sri Lanka Army funds were used to buy stocks of agricultural and livestock instruments and goats for farming villagers in Vikumpura, Mannar areas of the 542 Brigade under the 54 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) which were distributed free of charge on Thursday (1) as one more community-oriented project of the SFHQ-W. Under the programme, Farmers’ Society at Vikumpura village received 2 hand tractors.....
     
  • 46 Civil Security Officers Complete Training at NCOs School


    The certificate award ceremony of the Civil Security Officers Training Course, conducted at Kalaoya Training School for Non Commissioned Officers of the Army, took place on Friday (12) at the school premises. 46 Civil Security Officers successfully completed the two-month long training course which covered subjects such as physical training exercises.......
     
     
  • Certificates Awarded to English Language Course Attendees


    The first English Language Course - 2014 for officers, organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) in coordination with the British Council of Jaffna   formally ended on Thursday (11) with award of certificates to the students during a ceremony at SFHQ-J. Thirty one commissioned officers, representing all military formations in Jaffna, received proficiency certificates upon completion of their English training.

    Troops including officers and other ranks serving the 68 Division in Puthukkudiyirippu, Mullaittivu of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) had the privilege of listening to a special lecture on ‘HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD)’, delivered by Mr. Ivan Perera and his team of the Social Service Foundation, John Keells Holding Limited at Puthukkudiyirippu Divisional Secretariat on Wednesday (10).

  • Outdoor Theatre Open to Public in Pooneryn


    Pooneryn-based 66 Division-constructed new open theatre at the 66 Division Headquarters premises was opened on Friday (12) during a simple ceremony. The theatre, open to both servicemen and civilians in the area will every Wednesday and Saturday screen films for entertainment, free of charge, beginning at 6.00 p.m. on both days.
