  • Recruit Under Compass Training Met with Train Accident & Succumbs to Injuries


    A recruit of Special Forces (SF) under training in the general area of Habarana succumbed to injuries after he collided with a night train while engaged in a compass training module during early hours of Saturday (31). The Recruit, H.W Kumara together with a few others under training was continuing with his target finding training using a compass when he met with this accident and received injuries after he was knocked down by the train.

    The newly constructed Women’s Ward at the Army Base Hospital in Diyatalawa was opened by Major General Mano Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) on Wednesday (28). The Women’s Ward was constructed by SFHQ-C troops to fulfill a long-felt need at Diyatalawa Army Base Hospital on the instructions of Major General Perera. Major General Perera as a taken of memory planted Iron Wood sapling in the premises before the day’s programme followed with an all rank tea table.
  • Kilinochchi Troops Assist Kovil Pooja Devotees at Sri Ghanaverawan Kovil


    Troops of 11 Gajaba Regiment (GR) under the 651 Brigade of the 65 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) provided assistance to the annual Kovil Pooja ceremony in Kariyalangapadduvan on Wednesday (28). Army personnel gave their fullest support to the ceremony from the beginning. They provided meals to a gathering of more than 250 devotees during the Kovil ceremony.
