The newly constructed Women’s Ward at the Army Base Hospital in Diyatalawa was opened by Major General Mano Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) on Wednesday (28).
The Women’s Ward was constructed by SFHQ-C troops to fulfill a long-felt need at Diyatalawa Army Base Hospital on the instructions of Major General Perera.
Major General Perera as a taken of memory planted an Iron Wood sapling in the premises before the day’s programme followed with an all rank tea table.
Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, senior officers, officers and other ranks of the SFHQ-C and hospital staff participated in the ceremony.
