  • Arrangements for the Year's Mega Show, 'Tharu Dilena Reyak III' in Progress

    The year’s scintillating musical fiesta, ‘Tharu Dilena Reyak III’, the fund-raising musical extravaganza of the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) with a galaxy of popular vocalists and artistes, will be on the boards at Nelum Pokuna on 29th December for the express purpose of harnessing financial support for construction of 'Abimansala' wellness resorts for dependent War Heroes and their welfare.

  • Students Sitting Exam Receive Seminar Help


    Sri Lanka Army’s 222 Brigade Headquarters at Jayanthigama, Kantale with the aim of further promoting public relations, recently organized a series of G.C.E (O/L) examination, related educational seminars for two days. With the coordination of the 222 Brigade Headquarters, these seminars took place at Kallar Somadevi Vidyalaya, Trincomalee during November 24-25.

    Security Forces Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), giving a push to the ongoing ‘Api Wawamu Rata Nagamu’ cultivation programme of the Ministry of Agriculture recently distributed a large stock of coconut saplings among villagers at Sippimadu, Unnachchiya, Rasthunenagar, Pawakodichchena, Wallawadian, Korakalimaduby  and a few more villages.   • 54 Div New IT Centre Starts Training Army Personnel


    54 Division Headquarters in Mannar, expecting to go hand in hand with innovative IT technological advancements, set up its own IT centre, equipped with 15 new computers.   • Kosgama & Oddusudan Army Service Centres, Now in Operation


    Two more new vehicle Service Stations, set up at Oddusudan and Kosgama by Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (DEME) of the Army, as part of the Service Station establishment project, directed by the Commander of the Army, were opened recently during two brief ceremonies at respective places.   • 611 Brigade New Officers' Mess Opened


    The newly-erected Officers’ Mess at 611 Brigade Headquarters at Tharanikulam, Vavuniya was opened on Wednesday (28) during a brief ceremony. Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) at the invitation of Brigadier K.G.D Perera, Commander 61 Brigade unveiled a plaque and conducted the house-warming. Senior Officers and a large gathering of other ranks attended the occasion.

    With the intention of improving knowledge of English among students in Kilinochchi area, the Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) recently organized a workshop with selected 20 students.   • Troops Continue to Assist Fight Against Dengue

    Sri Lanka Army’s Security Forces Headquarters - West with the aim of reducing spread of Dengue, recently organized a project in Polgasovita area on the instructions of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) in Homagama. Over 750 houses were inspected with the participation of several Public Health Inspectors of Homagama MOH, Grama Niladari Officers and some civilians in respective areas.
