54 Division Headquarters in Mannar, expecting to go hand in hand with innovative IT technological advancements, set up its own IT centre, equipped with 15 new computers.
The newly established Centre for the benefit of officers and other ranks was ceremonially opened by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) at the invitation of Brigadier M.A.M Dias, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division on Saturday (1).
On the same occasion, the new centre commenced its first 14-day long IT course on basic training with the participation of 30 Army personnel, selected from all Mannar formations.
At the end of the training, the attendees are to receive a certificate of proficiency.
