  • SFHQ-J Organized 'Katina' Procession Wends Its Way Through Jaffna Streets


    The annual Katina ceremony at Jaffna Sri Naga Vihara was conducted on Sunday (25) on a grand scale under the aegis of Ven. Meegahajandure Siri Vimala Thero of the temple. Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), together with officers and other ranks provided all the support to the religious event.

  • SFHQ-E Actively Supports Community Projects


    Security Forces Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) in the past fortnight intensified its community-oriented projects and provided all support and assistance as requested. Of them, construction of a new house to the rehabilitated former combatant, M.K Sathyaseelan of Vakarai using Army found raw materials and labour received the support of the recipient’s neighbours and was completed within a few days.
  • Two More 'Happiness Centres' in Mullaitivu Opened


    Action and Care Trust, a non-governmental organization, working for benefit of war-affected children established two more separate Happiness Centres, exclusively designed for students at Wattappalai Maha Vidyalaya and Wemmalai Maha Vidyalaya in the Security Forces Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) area.  The primary objective of those centres is to help children overcome past unpleasant traumas of war and memories...............
  • Four New Army-Built Houses Handed Over to Poor Civilians


    Four more new houses, built by 59 Division troops with the patronage received from ‘Shanthi’ foundation were formally vested in four poor civilians in Seelawaththa village during a recent ceremony.
