  • LTTE Terrorists Use Children as Human Shields

    JAFFNA: LTTE TERRORISTS LOBBED A HAND GRENADE at the Army troops on picket duties using two children as a human shield around 2.15 p.m. at IRUPALAI Saturday (24). The intention of LTTE terrorists had been to make propaganda by exposing the children to the retaliatory fire and thereby to discredit the Government forces for killing children. Troops on identifying the cruel objective of LTTE terrorists did not retaliate at the grenade throwers. Immediate search operation launched by troops in the area arrested a suspect and handed over to the KOPAI Police. The SLMM was informed. The KOPAI Police are conducting investigations.
