COLOMBO: POLICE, following information received from a suicide Black Tiger arrested in COLOMBO recently, recovered 9.5 kg of C 4 explosives, 1.5 kg of steel balls, eight detonators and some batteries Friday (20).
Further interrogation led to the arrest of another Tiger terrorist, impersonated as a film director, who was gathering intelligence on movements of VIPs participating in a function at the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall), COLOMBO Friday (20).
Police found an invitation card enabling him to take part in the function at the BMICH and one Identity Card to prove that he was a film director from his possession.
It was revealed that the arrested terrorist had also been involved in making explosive devices in one of his houses at KOTAHENA, COLOMBO.
A Special Police Team is conducting further investigations.
