Suspect Provided Lodging to LTTE Suicide Bomber Arrested

COLOMBO: ONE PERSON believed to have maintained close contact with LTTE was arrested by a special Police team Saturday (21) afternoon in COLOMBO.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested suspect, the manager of “SOORIYAN REST”, No 18, station road, COLOMBO 6, had provided accommodation to LTTE suicide cadre who self-detonated an explosion targeting a Police vehicle near the SAMBUDDHALOKA Temple on LOTUS Road on 16th May 2008.

A copy of the Identity Card of the suicide terrorist has been found by the Police from Room No. 23 of the lodge.

A special Police team is conducting further investigations.
