Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army together with Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), attended a Special Thai Pongal Pooja held on 14th January 2025 at Mayurapathy Sri Bathrakali Amman Kovil, Colombo 6 in line with the Thai Pongal Day.
A grand felicitation ceremony for Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, was held on 12th January 2025 at the St. Joseph’s Church Pamunugama.

Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander, Security Forces (West), and Overlooking Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), made his inaugural visit to the Volunteer Force Headquarters on 5th January 2025.
The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) bade farewell to Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the outgoing Commandant of SLAVF, during a brief ceremony held on 03rd January 2025 at the SLAVF premises in Kosgama.

Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc of the Gajaba Regiment, the newly-appointed Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS), the third most senior appointment in the Sri Lanka Army, assumed duties on 2 January 2025, as the 45th Deputy Chief of Staff during a simple ceremony held at the Army Headquarters.
