Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc assumed duties as the 60th Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 13th February 2025 at the Volunteer Force Headquarters, amidst military formalities.


Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, presented floral offerings and paid his respects to the sacred relics of the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple on Navam Full Moon Poya Day (12 February), during the final Navam Perahera. The annual procession, held for the 45th consecutive year, commenced following preliminary religious rituals and the invocation of blessings.


The 10th contingent of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) at SRIMED Level 2 UN Hospital in Bor, South Sudan, comprising 9 Officers and 42 troops, arrived in Sri Lanka on 11 February 2025, following the successful completion of their one-year mission. Meanwhile, the remaining 07 Officers and 05 troops stayed in South Sudan as a rear party and are expected to arrive in due course.
