The 77th Independence Day celebrations conducted with a series of patriotic events across the Northern and Eastern Provinces, reaffirming its national unity and peace on 04th February 2025.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the felicitation ceremony at St. Benedict's College, Colombo, on 07th February 2025. The event was also attended by Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, the President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit.

Major General W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe RSP USP was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 06 February 2025, along with his family members, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army.

The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, along with Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, received blessings from the clergy and sacred sites, including the Sri Maha Bodhi and Ruwanweli Seya, on 5th February 2025.

Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army, chaired the Board of Management (BOM) meeting at Ranaviru Apparel (RVAPL) on 30th January 2025.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, along with Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), visited War Heroes at Abhimansala 3 Wellness Resort in Pangolla on Wednesday (5 February).

Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Commandant (Overlooking) of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), conducted an official visit to the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka National Guard on 05th February 2025.

Her Excellency Miyon LEE, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, at the Army Headquarters this afternoon (03 February) 2025. Ms. Sohngyee JUNG, Deputy Head of Mission also joined the delegation for the courtesy visit.

Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), paid an official visit to the 3rd Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 31st January 2025.

Warrant Officer II Samitha Dulan Kodithuwakku of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP), who achieved a remarkable feat by winning a silver medal in the Men’s F44 Javelin Throw event setting a new world record of 67.03 meters at the Paris Paralympics 2024, was presented with a new javelin by the Prime Minister at the Ministry of Education on January 29.
