Army Chief Visits Army Hospital, Colombo

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, paid an official visit to the Army Hospital, Colombo on 10th January 2025.

Upon his arrival, he was accorded a drive pass and warmly welcomed by Brigadier W.H.U.D Wijeratne, Officiating Director General of Army Health Services (DGAHS), together with Brigadier R.M.J.B Ratnayake RSP, Director of the Directorate of Management & Maintenance of the Army Hospital, Brigadier R.M.M Monaragala USP, Director of the Army Hospital - Colombo, and other Senior Officers.

During the visit, he addressed the Senior Officers of the hospital, discussing its activities and future development plans. He highlighted the importance of providing comprehensive medical facilities for War Heroes, both serving and retired, as well as their family members, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care. Emphasising the significance of teamwork and efficiency in delivering quality healthcare services, he praised the hospital staff for their dedication and professionalism, assuring them of his continued support to enhance the hospital's facilities.

Following his address, the Army Chief inspected the hospital premises, including Wards 05, 09, 14, 15, 17, Outpatient Department (OPD), Dispensary, Hospital Ration Stores, Cafeteria, Laundry, and Local Purchase Section. And also, he inspected the 15-storied building, under the construction process, which is intended to extend facilities for the hospital and the bio-medical workshop. Afterwards, the Army Chief attended a tea arrangement where he interacted with All Ranks of the hospital. Concluding the visit, he signed the Visitors' Book to mark his visit to the Army hospital.
