A lecture on “Satisfied and Brave Army” was conducted under the supervision of the Directorate of Media and Psychological Operations on 27 August 2025 at the Sri Lanka Military Academy.
A three-day workshop on ‘Psychological Health and Prevention of Suicidal Attempts by Members of Armed Forces’ was conducted at the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) from 12 to 14 August 2025, under the guidance of Major General K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayake USP, Commander, Security Forces (Central).
Under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative, a Classical Music Therapy programme was conducted at Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) on 13 and 14 August 2025, under the supervision of Major General K.A.N. Rasika Kumara ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna).
A professionally structured Exercise “Staff Ride” was successfully conducted on 06 August 2025, under the strategic direction of the Commander of the Army and the supervision and guidance of the Commandant of the Army War College, as part of the ongoing commitment to enhance operational level military education for middle grade Officers. The Commander, Security Forces Headquarters (East) extended his invaluable support in organizing the exercise at an exemplary level.
The final planning conference for Exercise Mithra Shakti XI was successfully held from 30 July to 02 August 2025 in Belagavi, Karnataka, India. Brigadier D.S Jayawardana RSP ndc, the Director Infantry of the Sri Lanka Army, together with three Senior Officers, collaborated with Indian military officials to finalise operational details for the upcoming exercise, which included a field visit to the training areas.
The Sri Lanka Army conducted the third planning conference of the Russian-Sri Lanka Tactical Counter-Terrorist Exercise with a Russian military delegation at the Office of the Director General Infantry on 05 August 2025, under the guidance of Major General W.B.J.K Wimalaratne RWP RSP, the Director General Infantry.
In a move to enhance leadership competence and decision-making abilities among military personnel, an awareness lecture on the ‘Human Factor’ was held at the Army Headquarters on 01 August 2025. The session was conducted under the directives of the Commander of the Army and under the close supervision of Major General W.M.N.K.D Bandara RWP RSP USP psc, the Director General Training.
The Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) Officers Course No-35, conducted from 28 April to 01 August 2025, successfully concluded at the Army Training School (ATS), Maduru Oya.
A three-day workshop for the instructors of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (HR and IHL) of Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ - West) was conducted at the SFHQ - West premises from 29 to 31 July 2025.
