A two-week training programme for Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) began on 24 November 2025 at Panaluwa as the initial phase of a three-stage effort aimed at enhancing security readiness.
Major General U.K.D.D.P. Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commander, Security Forces (West), delivered the opening address, highlighting the importance of continual training to meet evolving operational demands.
Three QRTs consisting of 15 members each, together with six women soldiers from under-command establishments of the Security Forces (West), are taking part in this intensive phase. A team of six qualified instructors with substantial operational experience is conducting specialised lectures and practical demonstrations to provide both theoretical understanding and essential hands-on exposure throughout the programme.
