The Directorate of Plans conducted a workshop for its Officers on “Formulation of Accurate Technical Specifications” at the Multifunctional Hall of Army Headquarters on 17 October 2025.
Training
A large-scale Search and Rescue Training Exercise was conducted on 16 October 2025 along the Ella–Wellawaya road, organized by the Badulla District Disaster Management Unit. The exercise was based on the analytical findings of the real-life rescue operation following the tragic bus accident that occurred on 04 September 2025, with the aim of enhancing readiness and coordination for future emergency responses.
Exercise Mitra Shakti (XI) 2025 is scheduled to be held in Belgavi, India, from 9 November to 23 November 2025. Accordingly, the Pre-Training Course for the participating contingent commenced at the Air Mobile Training School (AMTS), Nikawewa, with the participation of Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Air Force.
The Sri Lanka Army Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) conducted an awareness programme on 07 October 2025 at Army Headquarters, with the participation of Army personnel from all branches and directorates of Army Headquarters.
Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) conducted a lecture on Non-communicable diseases on 01 October 2025 at Security Headquarters premises.
A special lecture on Customs Procedures related to Army procurements was successfully conducted by the Directorate of Plans at Army Headquarters on 30 September 2025.
The Non-Commissioned Officers’ Leadership and Career Development Course - 61 concluded with a certificate awarding ceremony on 16 September 2025 at the Combat Training School (CTS).
The Royal Australian Engineers conducted an F3 mine detector workshop at the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering (SLSME) from 08 to 11 September 2025.
The graduation ceremony of Combat Diving Course No. 12 took place at the Special Forces Combat Diving Training School, Nayaru, on 06 September 2025. Major General M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Master General Ordnance and Colonel of the Regiment of Special Forces, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Directorate of Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) conducted an awareness programme at Security Forces Headquarters (East) on 15 August 2025, with the participation of Officers and Other Ranks. Brigadier T.G.N De Silva, Director of ABF, conducted the programme by explaining the Fund’s role in supporting welfare and financial security of Army personnel, highlighting benefits, procedures, and the importance of proper documentation.
