The 6th International Men’s Fajr Cup Weightlifting Championships was held from 26 to 30 November 2025 in Tehran, Iran, bringing together top athletes from across the region. Representing Sri Lanka, a group of elite Sri Lanka Army weightlifters competed as members of the National Weightlifting Team, showcasing remarkable skill and determination on the international stage.
The Army Inter Regiment Judo Championship, held from 03 to 06 November 2025 at the Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda, concluded successfully on 06 November 2025. 182 athletes from 14 regiments competed across various categories in the tournament.
The Inter-Regiment Wushu Competition was successfully held at the Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda, from 25 to 27 November 2025. A total of 127 sportsmen and sportswomen from various regiments of the Army participated in the event.
The W.S. Botheju Memorial Wrestling Championship 2025, conducted by the Suranimala Sports Club, took place on 22 and 23 November 2025 at the Indoor Stadium in Ja-Ela. A total of 34 male and 13 female athletes represented the Sri Lanka Army under the supervision of Major General A.M.C. Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndu, Chairman of the Army Wrestling Committee.
The 20th Inter Regimental Taekwondo Championship was held from 12 to 14 November 2025, at the Army Physical Training School in Panagoda.
The Inter Regiment Basketball Tournament was held from 20 to 26 September 2025 and the final match took place on 11 November 2025 at the Army Indoor Stadium Panagoda.
The Army Inter-Regimental Indoor Rowing Championship 2025, organized by the Army Rowing Committee, took place on 7 November 2025 at the Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda.
Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, commended Sri Lanka Army athletes for their exceptional performances at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championship 2025 held in Ranchi, India. The event brought immense pride to the nation and the Sri Lanka Army, as the athletes secured an impressive tally of 12 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.
A group of Sri Lanka Army athletes who represented the nation at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championship 2025 returned to the island on 28 October 2025.
