The World Sepaktakraw Championship 2025 inconjunction with the 38th Thai King's Cup 2025 was held in Hat Yai, Thailand from 22-27 July 2025. 16 top-ranked countries in men’s and women’s categories were represented. Lance Corporal A. Puvitharan of the 2nd Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) set a new national record in the Pole Vault event held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Playground, Diyagama, on 19 August 2025. He cleared a height of 5.18 metres during the selections for the Army Athletics Championship 2025.
