The Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Cycling Championship – 2025, organised by the Army Cycling Committee, was held in Udawalawe on 28 and 29 August 2025 with 118 male and female cyclists.
Staff Sergeant R. Nadeesha of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, the renowned 400m National Champion, has been selected to represent Sri Lanka at the IAAF World Athletics Championship, scheduled to be held in Tokyo, Japan, from 13 to 21 September 2025. She is the only Sri Lankan female athlete to qualify for this prestigious global event.
The first-ever Sri Lanka Army Canoeing & Kayaking Championship 2025 was conducted from 24 to 26 August 2025 at the Diyawanna Rowing Academy with the participation of 85 players, representing 08 Regimental Centres.
Sri Lanka Army weightlifter, Sergeant Y.D.I. Kumara, brought glory to the nation by winning the bronze medal in the men’s 60kg weight category at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships, held in India on 26 August 2025.
Warrant Officer I H.L.N.D. Lekamge of the 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, secured a Silver Medal at the Asian Throwing Championships held in South Korea on 22 August 2025, with a throw of 57.53 metres.
The World Sepaktakraw Championship 2025 inconjunction with the 38th Thai King's Cup 2025 was held in Hat Yai, Thailand from 22-27 July 2025. 16 top-ranked countries in men’s and women’s categories were represented. The Sri Lanka national Sepaktakraw Team showcased exceptional skill, achieving the following results:

Lance Corporal A. Puvitharan of the 2nd Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) set a new national record in the Pole Vault event held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Playground, Diyagama, on 19 August 2025. He cleared a height of 5.18 metres during the selections for the Army Athletics Championship 2025.
