Sri Lanka Army athletes delivered outstanding performances on 25 October 2025 at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championship, held in Ranchi, India, earning multiple medals and bringing immense pride to the nation and the Sri Lanka Army. In total, Army athletes won 12 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.
The Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Squash Championship 2025, organized by the Army Squash Committee, was held at the Mattegoda Army Camp from 05 to 15 October 2025, with the participation of 185 male and female players representing 11 regiments.
The National Sports Selection Committee has approved a team of 59 athletes for the upcoming South Asian Athletics Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Ranchi, India, from 24 to 25 October 2025.
The Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Chess Championship 2025, organised by the Army Chess Committee, was held at the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps from 22 to 26 September 2025. A total of 135 male and female players representing 14 regiments took part in the event.
Sri Lanka Army’s exceptional para athlete, Corporal Nuwan Indika Gamage, brought pride to the nation and the Army by winning the bronze medal at the World Para Athletic Championship held in New Delhi, India, on 02 October 2025.
The Sri Lankan national men's beach handball team made history by winning the first-ever silver medal for Sri Lanka in handball at the inaugural Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship, held in the Maldives from 18 to 22 September 2025.
The 13th Defence Services Athletics Championship 2025 was held on 29 and 30 September 2025 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Diyagama. Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Deputy Chief of Staff, graced the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The Sri Lanka Army secured the overall championship at the 13th Defence Services Motorcycling Championship, held on 11 September 2025 at the Gajaba Super Cross Track, Saliyapura.
The Inter Regiment Wrestling Championship 2025 was held on 01, 02 and 03 September 2025 at the Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda. More than 120 athletes representing 10 regiments competed in the championship, demonstrating exceptional skill, discipline and sportsmanship.
The Intermediate Boxing Tournament – 2025, organised by the Sri Lanka Boxing Association, took place from 18 to 21 August 2025 at the Royal College Indoor Stadium, Colombo, with the participation of 85 male and 36 female athletes representing 20 sports clubs.
