The Sri Lanka Army Triathlon Team excelled at the Ironman 70.3 Colombo, held at Port City, Colombo, on 22 February 2026, bringing honour and recognition to the Army at both national and international levels.
The Ironman 70.3 event comprised a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km cycling segment and a 21.1 km half marathon run.
Competing against 388 athletes representing Sri Lanka and 48 other countries, five triathletes represented the Sri Lanka Army. Four competitors competed in the highly competitive Open Division category, while one athlete competed in the 30–34 years age category.
During the competition, Army athletes dominated the Open Division among 27 competitors, securing First, Second, Third and Fifth places. In the 30–34 years age category, the Army athlete achieved Sixth place among 42 athletes.
Additionally, Lance Corporal M.P.S.R. Priyadarshana secured 9th place in the overall standings among 388 competitors.
