The 12th Asian Indoor Athletics Championship – 2026, organised by the Asian Athletics Association, was held from 06 to 08 February 2026 in Tianjin, China.
Representing Sri Lanka, athletes of the Sri Lanka Army Athletics team achieved the following performances:
Corporal W.A.M.R. Wijesuriya – 2(V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps secured 6th place in the 3000m event, setting a new National Indoor Record at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championship.
Corporal K.A.P. Malshan – 2(V) Sri Lanka Army Service Corps secured 5th place in the Triple Jump event, also establishing a new National Indoor Record at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championship.
Major General B.G.S. Fernando USP, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Army Athletics Committee, supervised the athletes at the event.
