    Defence Attaché at Colombo’s High Commission for India, Captain S. Kapoor during the weekend (6-7) visited Wanni and paid a courtesy call to the Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W). During his stopover at the SFHQ-W, he received an update on the ongoing infrastructure development work, resettlement, economic progress and security in the Wanni region from the SFHQ-W senior officers on behalf of its Commander who was away.

  • New Admin Building for 68 Div Opened

    The newly-constructed administrative building complex of the 68 Division Headquarters at Puthukudiyiruppu was opened recently, amidst religious rites and rituals during a simple ceremony. The new building, constructed by the Army enables the Division to smoothly conduct its administrative roles, moving out from temporary structures that were established soon after the Wanni Humanitarian Operations were over.

  • CDF Sets an Exemplary Record & Buys Tractors From its Own Profit Money

     
    Civil Defence Force (CDF), the auxiliary wing that provided maximum support behind the screen to the tri-services and the Police during battles against terrorists, created a novel feature for the first time in its history by buying new tractors to the CDF, using its own hard-earned money from agricultural cultivations. Twenty-six new tractors, bought from the profits the CDF accumulated in the past one year through its paddy cultivations.....

    With the sheer intention of quenching the thirst for knowledge of Jaffna students and other interested readers, a generous family from the South donated a volume of valuable books to the Jaffna library recently. The donation coordinated by the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) was comprised of 1500 books including encyclopaedias, novels, famous story books for children and a rare collection of books for academic purposes.
