The newly-constructed administrative building complex of the 68 Division Headquarters at Puthukudiyiruppu was opened recently, amidst religious rites and rituals during a simple ceremony.
The new building, constructed by the Army enables the Division to smoothly conduct its administrative roles, moving out from temporary structures that were established soon after the Wanni Humanitarian Operations were over.
Brigadier K.P.A Jayasekara, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division amidst ‘Seth Pirith’ chanting inaugurated the new building. House-warming followed the traditional milk-pot boiling. At the same occasion, the foundation stone for construction of another wing for the use of troops at Puthukudiyiruppu was also laid in the same 68 Division Headquarters premises.
