  • New Wing for Jaffna Civil Affairs & PR Opened

    A BRANCH of the Jaffna Civil Affairs and Public Relations Office along the Hospital Road in Jaffna was opened in Kodikamam to the East of Jaffna town centre on Wednesday (30) with the intention of expanding its services to the peripheries.   • Commander Inspects 'Abimansala' Construction Site

    COMMANDER of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, accompanied by the Security Forces Commander Wanni Major General G.D.H.K Gunaratne on Wednesday (14) visited the construction site at Anuradhapura ‘Abimansala’, the wellness resort for totally dependent disabled War Heroes and saw for himself the progress of its construction work.  Lieutenant General Jayasuriya took time off to walk around the site inspecting the progress of the construction of villas and cottages that are being constructed by soldiers belonging to Engineer Service Regiment.

  • Jaffna High Security Zone to be Relaxed

    IN a move to restore complete civil administration in the Jaffna Peninsula, the Resettlement Ministry yesterday said certain parts of the Jaffna High Security Zone (HSZ) have been identified for resettlement. The Ministry has instructed Jaffna Government Agent K. Ganesh to discuss resettlement in the Jaffna HSZ with the security authorities and make preliminary arrangements to resettle the people.
