NEARLY 300 unemployed young men and women in the Jaffna peninsula are to receive employment openings in the garment industry sector immediately after a brief training given to them.

Following an initiative launched by Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ - J), on the instructions of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya who recently toured Jaffna, 52 Division in Jaffna carried out an initial survey and sought those aspirants before they were called for interviews when the management of Creations (Pvt) Ltd, a leading garment manufacturer and exporter volunteered to offer job opportunities with a monthly salary of not less than Rs. 15,000/= to each.

All those youngsters during the period of training and employment are provided with free meals, accommodation and transport along with separate incentives for production and attendance.
