  • New Commander Joins Fast-Breaking 'Ifthar' Ritual


    Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake joined Muslim members of the Sri Lanka Army to celebrate ‘Ifthar’, breaking of 'Ramadan' fast Monday evening (05) at a fast-breaking event, organized at 'Laya Beach' Hotel, Wadduwa. The event was organized by the Muslims Association of the Sri Lanka Army under the patronage of its President Brigadier M. Z. R. Sallay. ‘Ifthar’ celebrations marked for the third time in the Army took place in accordance with the wishes of the Commander who wants all religious and cultural identities be accommodated equally in the organization.

  • International Agricultural and Marketing Exhibition Opened in Kilinochchi


    A mega international agricultural and marketing exhibition was held at the Kilinochchi Vidayalayam grounds recently. The exhibition was organized by the State Trading Corporation (STC) and National Agricultural Foundation with the collaboration of Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi (SFHQ- KLN). Many residents in Kilinochchi district, school children teachers visited the exhibition to obtain knowledge from this exhibition.

    Under the direction of the Commander Security Force Headquarters Wanni (SFHQ -W), troops of 211 Brigade distributed school uniforms for students of Mahamilankulam Primary School on Friday (02) at the Mahamilankulam Primary school premises. At the request made by the Army, Mr & Mrs Gamini Kariyawasam of Angulana Colombo sponsored this noble deed where 94 students from low-income families were benfited.
