  • Wanni Based Troops Conducts Conference for Business Community in Vavuniya


    Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters Wanni (SFHQ-W) addressed a gathering of business community in Vavuniya to discuss Challenges in the trade at SFHQ-W premises on Thursday (9). 115 businessmen companied of Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities from Vavuniya area came for the conference. During the discussion, they discussed various issues and difficulties faced by them in the field of business.

  • SFHQ-C Troops Provide Emergency Relief Services


    Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) serving Diyatalawa, Haputale and Bandarawela areas recently rushed to the occasion and helped restore transport and movement facilities in poor weather affected areas after removing fallen trees and debris. Collapse of trees on houses and business establishments disrupted normalcy and disconnected power supplies as a result of gushing winds and torrential rains in the first week of October.

  • Brigadier Rajaguru Assumes Office as 31st SLMA Commandant


    Brigadier R.W.W.A.D.B Rajaguru has been appointed as the 31st Commandant of the Army’s premier seat of learning, Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) at Diyatalawa. A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, in conformity with military traditions, saluted the new Commandant, Brigadier Rajaguru upon his arrival at the SLMA premises on Tuesday (7) for assumption of office as the Commandant.

    Continuing moral and social responsibility in the post-war era the Security Force Headquarters East (SFHQ-E) troops went ahead with more community programmes for the welfare of the general public in 221, 222 and 242 Brigades under the 22 and 24 Divisions areas on Saturday (11). Troops of 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) conducted a ‘Sharmadana’ campaign to clean the surroundings of Jyanagar Preschool, Kuchchaweli.

  • Security Forces Appeal Gold Jewellery Claimants To Reach Civil Coordination Offices For Processing


    The Security Forces in the North who had already launched the process of returning identified gold jewellery, recovered earlier from the LTTE, to their rightful owners, appeal remaining civilians who have still failed to claim their valuables after the war to reach Civil Coordinating Offices in the Wanni, Kilinochchi, Mullaittivu, Mannar and Jaffna and process their ownership claims, proving their bona fides for verification.
