  • Thoughtful Army Officers Gift Wheelchair to Student

  • New 61 Division GOC Assumes Duties


    Brigadier S.H.F.P. Perera, assumed duties as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC), 61 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) during a simple ceremony on Wednesday (5) at the 61 Divisional Headquarters, Wennankulam. In accordance with military traditions, Brigadier Perera reviewed the Guard Turnout on arrival at the premises after he was welcomed by senior officers of the 61 Division.

  • Army Power Lifters Clinch all Island Championship-2015 with National Records


    The All Island ‘Shakthi’ Power Lifting Championships -2015 took place on 1 August at Maithree Hall, Bandaragama with the participation of 8 teams. Sri Lanka Army fielded 2 teams for the tournament where they showed exceptional skills. The Army ‘A’ team emerged as the overall champions of the tournament and won commendations.  



  • Major General A.S Peiris (Retd) Passes Away


    Major General A.S Peiris (Retd), a veteran in the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) Regiment, passed away on Monday (3) at the age of 72 years after a distinguished military career of more than 34 years. His remains are lying at 20/3A, Vijaya Kumaratunga Mawatha, Averihena Road, Polhengoda, Kirulapana. The funeral with military honours will take place on Saturday (8) at the General Cemetery, Borella at 4.00 p.m.

    Army Women’s Cricket Team beat Colts Cricket Club by 133 runs in the Women’s Division I Cricket Tournament match, organized by Sri Lanka Cricket on Thursday(6).
