Funeral of late Major General A. Siri Peiris (Retd) RSP VSV USP IG, who passed away after a sudden illness on Monday (3) took place on Saturday (8) at the General Cemetery, Borella with full military honours.
Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva expresses his profound sorrow and immense grief on the demise of Major General A.S. Peiris of the Sri Lanka Artillery who has held a number of key appointments in the Army and served the nation with dedication and commitment, in a Special Part 1 Order.
Issued through the office of the Adjutant General, the Special Part 1 Order of the Commander of the Army in accordance with military traditions was to be read out at the military funeral on Saturday (8).
