  • Religious Ceremonies Bless SFHQ-KLN Anniversary


    Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) recently celebrated its 6th Anniversary with a series of programmes giving priority to Religious Activities. In compliance with military traditions, the official flag of the SFHQ -KLN was blessed at the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, Anuradhapura, followed by invocation of blessings on all Army personnel serving under the SFHQ-KLN.
  • More Milking Cows Donated to Kilinochchi Families


    The fifth phase of the distribution of milking cows for low-income families in Kilinochchi area, organized by 17(V) Gajaba Regiment (GR) under the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) was held at Harmony Center, Kilinochchi on Thursday(30). Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

  • SFHQ-West Troops Assist in Dengue Prevention


    Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West) at the request of Health Ministry, under the directions of Ministry of Defence and Army Headquarters, conducted a Dengue Prevention Program in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts on Wednesday (29) and Thursday (30). More than 230 troops serving 14 Division and 142 Brigade participated in the project which was closely monitored by Major General U.A.B. Medawela, Commander, SFHQ - West.

    Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West) organized a medical clinic on Cardiac complications for the benefit of the people in Nikaweratiya area, with the assistance from Asiri Surgical Hospital, at Nikaweratiya Jayathi Maha Vidyalaya on Thursday(30) under the directions of Major General U.A.B Medawala, Commander, SFHQ-West.

  • 20 SLLI Wins BPT Tournament in Kilinochchi


    The Inter Battalion Battle Physical Training (BPT) Competition-2015, organized by the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi(SFHQ-KLN), concluded on Thursday (29) at Battalion Training School of 66 Division at Arasapurakulam. The Competition commenced on 15 July where BPT teams representing battalions under SFHQ-KLN participated.

  • Second 'Commandos 4x4 Expedition' Begins Journey from Jaffna


    ‘4 x 4 Expedition 2015’ - ‘Experience Sri Lanka with Commandos’
    , the thrilling motor vehicle journey, organized for the second time by the Commando Regiment (CR), kicked off symbolically on Sunday (2) from Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte before the actual six-day tour begins from Jaffna on Monday (3). Major General Prasanna Silva, Colonel of the Regiment, CR, flagged the beginning of the expedition and formally began it along the Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Road, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte.
     
  • SFHQ-KLN & SFHQ-MLT Troops Engage in Poya Day Religious Programmes


    Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) as well as the 6 Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME)  of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on account of the extended Esala Poya day (July 31) conducted two separate Bodhi Pooja offerings at Wewsiri Viharaya, Iranamadu, Kilinochchi and at Mullaittivu Muladeepa Viharaya respectively.

  • 3rd Computer Course at SFHQ-E Ends


    The 3rd Computer Course at the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), aimed at improving computer literacy among officers and other rankers serving under the SFHQ-E concluded on 27 July at the SFHQ-E premises. The 21-day course commenced on 03 July and was conducted under the patronage of Orient Academy Limited. A total of 40 Army personnel followed the course.
