  • Mullaittivu Commander Visits Navy, Air Force Bases


    Major General P.U.S. Vithanage, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu undertook his first formal visits to Naval and Air Forces bases in the SFHQ-MLT area on Monday (6) after assuming his duties as the SF Commander. Major General Vithanage first visited the “Gotabhya” Naval Base at Wadduwakal where he was received by the Commander K.A.H.I. Kuruppu, Commanding Officer “Gotabhya” Naval Base.

  • 3rd Computer Course at SFHQ-E Commenced


    The 3rd Computer Course at Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), aimed at improving computer literacy among officers and other rankers serving under SFHQ-E, commenced on Friday (3) at SFHQ-E premises. The 21-day course is to be conducted under the patronage of Orient Academy Limited.

Jagath Wijethilleke RWP USP ndc psc, Commissioner General of Rehabilitation whose ‘life became the Army or vice versa’ during his distinguished career spanning more than 34 years, bade farewell to the Nation in a military funeral Tuesday (7) evening, amidst a mammoth gathering of his military comrades and other mourners at the General Cemetery, Borella.
     
  • ARMY COMMANDER SUSPENDS THE OFFICER INVOLVED IN FATAL ROAD ACCIDENT IN WELIGAMA

     
    Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army has suspended the service of the Army officer involved in the fatal road accident in Gurubabila WELIGAMA area, which claimed the lives of three persons with immediate effect, without pay. The vehicle in which the officer was travelling collided with a three-wheeler killing three persons on 07 July 2015. 
     
     
  • New Chief of Defence Staff Calls on Commander

     
     
    Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, the newly-appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) paid his first formal courtesy visit to the Army Headquarters Thursday (9) evening and called on Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army at the Commander’s office.

  • Troops Join Hands with Civilians to Improve Education in Wanni


    A recent simple ceremony, organized by 622 Brigade troops, saw 2 steel cupboards, worth of   Rs. 22,000.00/= were donated to the Helambawewa Preschool on Friday (3). Mr Gamini Perera, a philanthropist provided financial assistance. Commander and Civil Affairs Officer of 622 Brigade coordinated this event.
     
  • 12 Division Assist Medical Clinics in Hambantota


    12 Division, together with 122 Brigade, 10(V) Gemunu Watch and 18 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) assisted the conduct of a medical clinic during July 4-5 at Yahangala Primary School and Beralihela Junior School for the patients in the Hambantota District, under the directions of Brigadier W.A.N.M. Weerasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division.
