12 Division Assist Medical Clinics in Hambantota

12 Division, together with 122 Brigade, 10(V) Gemunu Watch and 18 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) assisted the conduct of a medical clinic during July 4-5 at Yahangala Primary School and Beralihela Junior School for the patients in the Hambantota District, under the directions of Brigadier W.A.N.M. Weerasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division.

The first Medical Clinic was held on Saturday (4) at Yahangala Primary School at Bandagiriya which was attended by 465 patients. During the clinic, a total of 100 pairs of spectacles were distributed among the needy after examinations and school items were also donated among children of poor families.

The second Medical Clinic was held on Sunday (5) at Beralihela Junior School, Lunugamwehera where 573 patients were treated. During the clinic, school items were also donated among children of poor families for their educational purposes.

A 25-member Medical team of the ‘Jayagrahanaya’ (Victory) Foundation in Colombo, led by Consultant Physician Dr. Anula Wijesundara provided medical consultations to both arrangements.

Commander, 122 Brigade, Senior Officers, Principals and District Secretaries were present throughout the conduct of those two community projects.
