Major General P.U.S. Vithanage, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu undertook his first formal visits to Naval and Air Forces bases in the SFHQ-MLT area on Monday (6) after assuming his duties as the SF Commander.
Major General Vithanage first visited the “Gotabhya” Naval Base at Wadduwakal where he was received by the Commander K.A.H.I. Kuruppu, Commanding Officer “Gotabhya” Naval Base. The commanding officer briefed the visiting Mullaittivu Commander on the roles and tasks of the Base.
The SF Commander then visited the Sri Lanka Air Force Base, located near the Nandikaldal Lagoon. The visiting Commander was welcomed by Wing Commander T.M.R.B. Mayurawasala, Commanding Officer, SLAF Base. The visiting Commander got a detailed analysis on the operations carried out by the Air Base.
Major General Vithanage also visited the airstrip located within the base.
