  • 213 Brigade Troops Donate Blood


    With the guidance and coordination of the 213 Brigade Commander, a blood donation camp was organized by troops serving the 213 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) on Monday (6).   • Cadet Officers Visit Kilinochchi


    As part of their routine training and familiarization, 49 cadet officers from the newly-enlisted Intake No 78 along with their course officers, staff and administrative teams, visited the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) in order to know more about Kilinochchi and its suburbs on Thursday (16).   • Commander's Representative Visits Affected Soldier's Family & Assures a New House


    Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake on hearing that fall of a boulder has destroyed the house of a soldier at Millawana, Galakumbura in Pallepola, due to torrential rains, has directed Major General S.W.L Daulagala, Director General, General Staff at the Army Headquarters to immediately provide relief and construct a new house for him in a suitable place.
  • 'Deyata Kirula' Army Site Preparations in Kuliyapitiya Reviewed

     

    Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army on Monday (20) arrived in Kuliyapitiya with the intention of inspecting how Army arrangements are in progress as regards the forthcoming ‘Deyata Kirula-2014’ mega exhibition. Sri Lanka Army, as is the practice in previous years, is to put up more than 22 exhibition stalls in the Kuliyapitiya Technical School ground, allotted solely to the Army by the organizers of the mega exhibition. The Army exhibits have remained huge crowd-pullers in the past few years.

    Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) martial artists, emerged Champions in the Inter Regiment Karate Championship Tournament after competing against more than 650 players, belonging to all Regiments in the Army.

    Sri Lanka Army ruggerites in a convincing victory against Sri Lanka Air Force counterparts secured 60 points against 30 of their rivals and recorded a dominating win in the Army - Air Force rugby tussle at Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium. At the second half burst saw Air Force entering in an aggressive manner with the first try point within....

    Newcomers to the Grade - 1 class at Bogaswewa Maha Vidyalaya in the new resettled village at Bogaswewa, Vavuniya, enjoyed the spacious comfort in the new building, constructed by them for those kids when they arrived at the school premises on Thursday (16). Students arriving at the premises to begin with their New Year studies.......

    Sri Lanka Army that has hitherto produced record scores of world class sportsmen and women to the country is to revitalize the field of sports to be on par with modern technical aspects and emerging new spheres at both local and international levels, so said the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake during a Press Conference, held Tuesday (21) evening in connection with the forthcoming Army ‘Colours Night - 2013' on Friday (24).

    Deputy Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mr David Quesne met Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) at the Commander’s office at SFHQ-MLT on Tuesday (21). During Mr Quesene’s first meeting with the new SFHQ-MLT Commander, both of them discussed present ICRC roles and future programmes.
