  • 66 Jaffna Youths & Girls Join Civil Security Department

    Letters of appointment to 48 Jaffna youths and 18 females in the Civil Security Department (CSD) were delivered during a ceremony, held at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) auditorium on Thursday (5). Parents, next of kin and guardians of those Tamil youths and females were present at the occasion to witness their sons and daughters receive those employment opportunities with a handsome salary and other perks.

    Totally blind Lance Corporal Anjana Karunasiri of 8 Gajaba Regiment (8 GR) on Friday (12), began to live together with Nirasha Dulakshi of Rathnayakapura, Nikaweratiya in wedded bliss, in front of a distinguished gathering of well-wishers, including none other than the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, himself. War Hero, Lance Corporal Karunasiri as the final battle for peace was reaching its climax, received injuries in an LTTE mortar attack on 14th March 2009.....
  • Troops Pocket Out Own Money to Buy Books for Kids


    Troops attached to 10 Sri Lanka National Guard (10 SLNG) at Sambavalai under Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) bought school books and educational accessories for kids at two pre schools in Ketpeli and Palavi in connection with International Children’s Day. A total of 48 kids learning at Ketpeli Ambal pre-school and Palavi Kalaivanai pre-school were the beneficiaries of this donation made by troops using their own money.   • Kilinochchi Madya Maha Vidyalaya Students Get Sports Accessories


    57 Division Headquarters in Kilinochchi with the objective of improving sports skills of Kilinochchi school children donated a large stock of cricket and sports accessories for the use of Kilinochchi Madya Maha Vidyalaya during a brief ceremony in the school premises. The consignment consisted of two Side Screens, one Score Board, two Players Dugouts, Boundary Rope and several other sports accessories.
