    Nearly 200 civilians affected with various eye ailments and other sight weaknesses in Vakarai area in the 233 Brigade area under 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) had the rare chance of getting treatment during a mobile eye clinic organized recently at Vakarai Hospital. 233 Brigade troops under the supervision of the Brigade Commander took the lead in this regard with assistance.....
  • Cardiac Patients Treated in Jaffna for Two Days


    Two consultant cardiologists, Dr Richard Saldena and Dr Krishan de Silva of Nawaloka Hospital, Colombo, together with several medical officers and nurses attended on over 300 Jaffna civilians, suffering from cardiac ailments during two separate medical clinics, held at Urumpirai and Kolombuthurai areas, served by 511 Brigade and 512 Brigade in the Jaffna peninsula.

    A routine refresher course for Company Commanders serving under the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) got underway at Welikanda SFHQ-E for 18 continuous days. Major General Lal Perera, Commander, SFHQ-E as the Chief Guest on the closing day of the course on Friday (4), delivered a brief address and wished them good luck with their future assignments.
  • Jaffna Tech Students Volunteer to Help Army Troops Cleaning Hospital Premises


    About 65 students from Jaffna Technical College joined hands together voluntarily with soldiers of the Ottahapulam-based 511 Brigade to clean up the Atchuvely Provincial Hospital during a recent Shramadana campaign. Brigade Commander and soldiers, appreciative of those young men’s initiative in helping the troops for a public cause, invited them to share lunch with the troops on the beaches at Thondamanaru.

    Spreading the wings of humanitarian assistance to the affected community in Ampara area, the 24 Division Headquarters under the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) was generous in donating 24 artificial limbs among needy civilians in the area, some of who have been affected in the war and turned disable.
