54 &;amp; 61 Divisions Have Their Own New Year Festivals

Giving prominence to traditional games, 54 Division under Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) organized a New Year festival, under the direction of Major General K.M.U Wijeratne, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division on Monday (7) at Division Headquarters premises.

Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W graced the event as the Chief Guest which included many varieties of traditional games and events.

Meanwhile, on the same day (7), 61 Division Headquarters organized its own Sinhala and New Year festival, headed by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W as the Chief Guest, at 61 Division Headquarters premises.

The programme was organized under the direction of Brigadier D.M.W.W.W.M.R.B.M Daulagala, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division.

Various traditional games and events were included in the day’s programme which went into late night, to be followed with a mega musical show.

General Officers Commanding, senior officers, other ranks and Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim civilians attended the ceremonies.
