    The Inter Regiment Beach Volleyball Tournament, competed by 10 teams of different Army Regiments on the ‘Brown Beach’ coast for two days (June 12-13) made the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) Champions after beating Gajaba Regiment (GR) players in the finals.

  • Army Amateur Boxers Secure Five Championships Out of Ten


    Sri Lanka Army amateur boxers (male) during the recent Sri Lanka Amateur Boxing Tournament at Colombo Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium showed colours and secured supremacy in five weight categories out of ten and four slots as first runners-up. Army woman amateur boxers meanwhile in the same tournament secured Championship in one weight category after competing in three categories. They also won the runners-up slot in one weight category.
     
  • SFHQ-MLT Marks Its 3rd Anniversary Giving Prominence to Religious Programmes

     
    Several special programmes got underway at Security Forces Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) and its suburbs in order to mark the 3rd anniversary of the founding of the SFHQ-MLT. Religious ceremonies and special Poojas at Christian, Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist places of worship preceded the military events, taking prominence in the anniversary programme.

    A stock of ready-made garments, donated by Mr Thyagaraj Kanthakumar for the use of civilians in Velankulam, Madukulam, Sinnathampanai and Senkadapaddai villagers in the 61 Division Headquarters area were distributed on Tuesday (12) during a brief ceremony at 61 Division Headquarters’ indoor stadium.
