    With the noble intention of uplifting living standards and nutrition among down-trodden civilians in the 642 Brigade Headquarters area under 64 Division, troops recently launched a separate project to distribute chickens among households in Palampasi Grama Seva Division in Oddusudan.

    Cricketers of Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) stunned their fellow-regimental comrades having beaten all the Regiments in the final cricket encounter, played at Panagoda Wednesday (23) afternoon. The Army’s SLA cricketers facing a tough tussle with Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) finally qualified to claim the Championship trophy in the tournament, of which the final was witnessed by Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya the Chief Guest.

  • 19 VIR Officers & Soldiers Buy Garments for Andamkulam Villagers


    Officers and soldiers joined together and bought a stock of readymade clothes for distribution among 22 selected families living in Andamkulam village under the 543 Brigade Headquarters area. On May 17, both officers and soldiers of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) serving the area distributed those packets of readymade clothes among those villagers who are affected with economic hardships.

  • 593 Brigade Puts Up Its Own FDS


    593 Brigade troops who threw their full weight behind decisive Wanni Humanitarian Operations several years ago are now serving Mullaittivu Nayaru Lagoon area which is surrounded by dense jungles. However, absence of a Forward Dressing Station (FDS) on the camp compound compelled the troops to travel a long distance in case of any emergency treatment or casualty.
