64 Division Troops Help Civilians Raise Living Standards

With the noble intention of uplifting living standards and nutrition among down-trodden civilians in the 642 Brigade Headquarters area under 64 Division, troops recently launched a separate project to distribute chickens among households in Palampasi Grama Seva Division in Oddusudan.

75 civilians in Thanduwan and 75 more civilians in Kataraliyarasamalankulam under the same Palampasi Grama Seva Division were given away these chickens free of charge during two separate ceremonies at Thanduwan Mixed School and Kataraliyarasamalankulam Community Centre.

Brigadier H.W.M.S.D.B Pananwala, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division, 642 Brigade Commander, Colonel K.M.R.P Karunathilake, Lieutenant Colonel H.M.S Priyantha, Major E.N Kurukulasuriya and Major I.J.G.P.K Thilakaratne of 16 Gajaba Regiment and 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment took part in the distribution ceremonies.
