  • 'Yoga' Course Attendees Receive Certificates


    10 officers and 34 other ranks who followed a moth-long Yoga instructors’ course at the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), received their certificates on Friday (5) after successful completion of the course. Brigadier H.P Seneviratne, Brigadier General Staff, SFHQ-W as the Chief Guest attended the certificate awarding ceremony at the SFHQ-W conference hall.
  • 68 Division 5th Anniversary Events Begin


    Precursor to the forthcoming 5th anniversary of the 68 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) at Puthukkudiyirippu, Mullaittivu, a marathon run and a Pirith chanting ceremony got underway on Tuesday (2) and Thursday (4) under the aegis of Major General A Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division.
  • 'Army Tattoo' Goes to Mallavi in Kilinochchi After Polonnaruwa


    The Army’s ‘Mini Army Tattoo’ that depicts multi-faceted skills of the Army personnel before the public will be staged at Mallavi, Yogapuram Public Ground with the initiatives taken by the 65 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters- Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) during December 10 - 11 beginning at 2.00 p.m. on both days.
  • 23 Division Gives Blood to Batticaloa Hospital


    More than 100 Army personnel serving the 23 Division Headquarters at Poonani under the Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-E) volunteered to donate blood for the use of patients at Batticaloa Teaching Hospital, following a request received from the Batticaloa Blood Bank.  The arrangement, organized on the directions of Brigadier D.D.U.K Hettiarachchi took place on Wednesday (3) at the Medical Reception Centre at the 23 Division Headquarters.
  • 11 & 21 Div Support Conduct of 'Sammabhimani'


    The Army organized, ‘Sammabimani’ spiritual programme, of Ven Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero got underway at Uyanwaththa Rajamaha Viharaya at Dambulla on Thursday (4). 11 Division of the Security Force Headquarters Central (SFHQ –C) organized the event on the directions of Brigadier D.S.N.K Senadheera, General Officer Commanding, 11 Division.
  • Audition Process Goes to SFHQ-C


    One more batch of potential ‘Ranaviru Real Star - V’ contestants serving under the Security Force Headquarters – Central (SFHQ-C) followed a nine-day training in singing at a workshop organized at the SFHQ-C premises during November 25 – December 04. The selection process that went on for 9 days was attended by officials of the Ministry of Defence and several artistes.

Various international elements are still at this attempt but the initiatives of the President and the Secretary Defence have made them ineffective, inheriting a strong and stable country to all of us, compared to unstable security situations in the region elsewhere. "
     
  • Army Recruits Display Endurance Skills in 12 km Walk

     
    A total of 4390 Army recruits from twenty Army training schools across the island showed their physical fitness, endurance and talents after staging a 12-km walk along the streets in respective areas on Sunday (7). Hundreds of recruits including females from Diyatalawa, Boossa, Henanigala, Sandunpura, Dehiattakandiya, Pangolla, Wedithalathivu, Panagoda, Karandeniya, Maberitenna, Kallettewa, Saliyapura, Ipalogama, Puttalum, Kekirawa, Mudungoda, Medawachchiya, Ambepussa.....
     
  • Cardiac Patients Examined in Anuradhapura

     
    A medical clinic for heart patients was conducted in Parakkramapura, Anuradhapura by 17 Sri Lanka National Guards (SLNG) Headquarters on Sunday (30) under the sponsorship and the assistance of the ‘Virgin Mary Missionary Service’ and the Asiri Hospital, Colombo on the directions of the Commanding Officer of the 17 SLNG, Lieutenant Colonel B.K.V.K.P Rodrigo.
