  • Training Programme for Regimental Sergeant Majors Begins


    A two day training programme, organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) for 70 Regimental Sergeant Majors (RSM), on the directions of Major General Boniface Perera, Commander (SFHQ-W), got underway at the SFHQ-W auditorium on Monday (10). The opening address was done by Brigadier H.P Senevirathne, Brigadier General Staff of (SFHQ- W).
     
  • Sacred Relics for Enshrinement in 'Sanda Hiru Seya' Taken in Procession

     


    The first leg of taking sacred Kapilawasthupura relics of the Buddha from the President’s House for enshrinement in the Sanda Hiru Seya at Anuradhapura began Wednesday (12) morning amid religious rites and rituals after they were formally entrusted to the custodianship of the President.

  • SFHQ-Central Commander Commends Commitment of His Troops at Meeriyabedda


    Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) who performed an arduous task after the landslide tragedy struck Meeriyabedda, Koslanda on October 29, 2014, received words of praise from the Commander, SFHQ-C during a specially convened meeting at the SFHQ-C premises on Tuesday (11).
     
  • SFHQ-E Troops Go on with More Community Programmes


    Troops of 2 Gajaba Regiment (GR) under the 221 Brigade of the 22 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) organized, ‘Shramadana’ campaigns to clean ‘Dewa Premaye Dewa Sabawa’ premises at Anuradhapura families junction in Trincomalee and Murugan Kovil, Palayuththu Gramaseva Divisional area on Friday (7).
     
  • Hurdle Clearing Rider Buddhika Encounters New Challenge


    The biker accelerated his two wheeled machine, up the ramp 30 feet long and 7.9 feet high. It started its flight and easily cleared the rotating main rotor of a helicopter, stopping the heartbeat of the spectators for a fraction of a second. The rider had performed the stunt with so much ease and landed well away from the helicopter, indicating that he can do better stunts. The biker who performed was a youngster named Buddhika Kasun Silva.
     
  • NSB Extends Its Generosity for Army Welfare Projects


    Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake on Thursday (13) thankfully acknowledged a financial grant of Rs 3 million from the National Savings Bank (NSB) towards the promotion of welfare projects in the Army.   • Commander Invites Ex-Army Personnel to Share Their Concerns

     

     
    With the sole objective of harnessing resources and skills of retired Army personnel for the betterment of the organization, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army Thursday (13) afternoon, for the first time in the Headquarters history, invited a representative gathering of ex-Army personnel to the Army Headquarters for a cordial dialogue through the coordination of the Ex-Servicemen’s Association.

    In order to keep the public aware of the importance of maintaining their environment clean and healthy, Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) troops as usual carried out collective community projects in the fast few days. Officers and soldiers of 221 and 232 Brigades under 22 and 23 Divisions, conducted more ‘Shramadana’ campaigns in public places.
