  • US Coaches Here to Train Football Players at SFHQ-J Invitation


    A team of veteran US football players spearheaded a three-day coaching camp for the youth and school children in Jaffna at Duraiappah Stadium, Jaffna during July 21-23 following coordination, done by the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna (SFHQ-J). Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-J attended the inauguration of the project on Monday (21).
  • 'Ifthar' Ritual Performed in Jaffna on Grand Scale


    Security Force Headquarters Jaffna (SFHQ-J) joined Muslim friends in Jaffna to celebrate ‘Ifthar’ (fast–breaking) event at the Public Ground, Jaffna Thursday (23). Over 475 Muslims and several religious leaders of Buddhist, Hindu, Catholic and Islam attended  this event. A speech, delivered by Maulavi Hakam Deen Amhar of Kaleliya Jumma mosque.....

  • SLMA Ruggerites Stun SLAF Combat Training School


    Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) ruggerites registered victory against Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School, Diyatalawa by thrilling 24 points (two tries and two goals) to 3 for Happy Valley Challenge Trophy at Polo Grounds, Diyatalawa on Saturday (26). This friendly match was organized by the SLMA to strengthen bonds of goodwill between Officer Cadets of both institutions.
  • Alms-Giving & Special 'Ifthar' Mark 22 Division Anniversary


    To coincide with the 17 anniversary of the 22 Division Headquarters, troops on the directions of Major General Lal Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters East (SFHQ-E), organized multi-religious observances at its Headquarters in Trincomalee. Troops invited more than 38 monks from the area and offered alms to them, following special blessing-invoking ceremonies.

  • Commander Extends Warm Greetings to 'Ranaviru Real Star' Achievers


    All ten Army vocalists  along with the winner, Captain Aruni de Silva of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police who entered  the final round and afterwards the grand finale in the 'Ranaviru Real Star-Mission IV' contest that stymied music lovers on Saturday (26) night at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, received congratulations and greetings of the Commander of the Army when the team called at the Army Headquarters Monday (28) evening.

  • Army Begins Production of its own Furniture & Rejuvenates its Musical & Aesthetic Values, Shifting to a Spacious Location



    Trying to bring the elegant craftsmanship, inherent among Army tradesmen to the fore, the Army is to venture on the production of their own furniture on a large scale, following a notion suggested by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake after having assessed the colossal expenditure, incurred in the purchase of furniture to the Army on a regular basis.
  • 'Emeralds' Shirts Distributed Free among Poor Civilians


    On the instructions of Major General S.D.T Liyanage, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT), 64 Division troops distributed branded new Shirts among needy people in the 642 Brigade areas on Saturday (26). Colonel J.D.A Gunasekara, Commander, 643 Brigade, senior officers and officials from Emerald International (Pvt) Ltd were present at this occasion.
