  • Soldiers Trained in Tamil Language Given Proficiency Certificates


    A total of 12 officers and 1110 other ranks who followed Tamil language courses, conducted by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) passed out during a brief ceremony on Thursday (5). The project, implemented on the instructions of Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ - J was conducted by instructors at the Army Tamil Language Training School, Kotmale.

  • Low-Income Group Families in Kilinochchi Get Sewing Machines, Fishing Nets, Steamers, etc


    More than 65 families of low-income groups, living in Kilinochchi area received a stimulus for conduct of their lives when the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), with the support of ‘Shantha Praja Sajeevi Karana Padanama’ of Dehiwala, a few days ago distributed sewing machines, fishing nets, steamers for string hopper making and kitchen utensils.
  • Soldiers at AHQ Carry Out Dengue Prevention Campaign


    More than 1200 soldiers of the Army Headquarters, together with five teams of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) on Wednesday (11) forenoon conducted a full-scale Dengue prevention cleaning campaign to be in parallel with the national drive. Those soldiers serving all Directorates in the Army, including those wings, situated outside the Army Headquarters joined the programme by clearing their surroundings and neighbourhoods throughout the entire morning.

    Sri Lanka Army has launched its newest recruitment drive in search of skilled soldiers who could serve the organization as store men, clerks, chefs, drivers, riders, technical men and as tradesmen in several other spheres. Accordingly, those males in the age range of 18-26 years with the birth certificate, student index, educational certificates, Grama Seva certificate and two character certificates of not more than 6 months old, certificates of vocational skills, National Identity Card.....
